Not Happy with These Bird Toys

Catherine,

I try not to be a complainer, but I must say that the parrot toys you sent me last week are poorly made.

I put all 3 toys in three separate birds’ cages on Saturday morning as soon as the package arrived.  The 3rd toy

survived the weekend, but the toys in the African Gray’s cage, and the one in my little Cape Parrot’s cage were

pretty well pulled apart by the end of the day on Saturday.

When I took the damaged parts out, and put them
on the “spare parts” stack, I recognized that those same toy parts from a previous purchase were in many different
pieces, too.  Maybe I did not buy the previous toys from Windy City, I do not know that …

Anyway, it’s just too easy for the birds to pull those toys apart, and the African Gray, especially, does not attack

toys with much vigor but she found these toys to be no challenge …

Dear Richard

I am sorry the toys were not tough enough for your birds. Perhaps that is why they have been lowered in price from the manufacturer so we can sell them for $19 instead of their original price of $30.00.

This is the first complaint we have received for them although I cannot say if they all were happy or not if we are not informed of this by our customers.
Personally I feel that the birds themselves to not like these huge toys and are are merely trying to trim them down so they can play with the individual parts, but end up dropping them before they are done and they go to or through the bottom of the cage where all sorts of nasty things can happen to the parts.

May I make a recommendation that has served many customers and their birds who do their best to take apart all the toys that go into their cages? And EVERY medium to large parrot owner has this issue. This item we offer on our website is a toy part lifesaver.

It is a a stainless steel rod that you can load up with all the spare parts you have
(that have a hole in them) and hang in the cage again as a brand new toy. The birds chew, chew, chew but they cannot remove the stainless steel kabob and they are able to enjoy the parts again in a new form.

You can also skewer cardboard, corn on the cob, old phone books, anything on these and they hold up.
