Hello, 

Can you tell me why if there is free shipping over 45.00 there is different pricing from different zones on harrision bird food.

“Free shipping” is really a misnomer. Nothing ships for free – any box from any vendor – www.windycityparrot.com, Amazon, EBay – the shipping charges are included in the price of the item. We have to assume all of our products ship to zip code 98101 (Seattle). 

On a 1 pound item the difference between FedEx zone 1 & zone 8 is only 32 cents. On a 20 pound bag of food the difference between FedEx zone 1 & zone 8 is $14.00. We feel by dividing that $14 up by zone we give those customers closer to the product a better value rather than just adding $14 to every bag of food.  

So with Harrison’s Bird food if you’re closer to the East coast you’ll pay less than if you if you live in California. You also know the cost up front with zone shipping so you don’t have to mess around with a shipping calculator which makes check out quicker.
