It is amazing to me how we underestimate the intelligence that resides at the sub-surface of our universe.

By sub- surface I mean at the quantum level.

Just imagine that we are in an airliner soaring over the ocean at 30,000 feet.

Looking down at the ocean from that height, what we see is a smooth, undisturbed surface.

In actuality though, just like a CD, there are patterns on the ocean surface, that is, information.

When we venture down to the atomic level in a parrot or bear or dog or human being, what we find are similar patterns, patterns that contain information that we choose to call intelligence.

Naturally, in the human being, because of who and what we are, our patterns are complex. But, this is so of parrots as well.

In many ways, we cannot understand the parrot any more than the parrot can understand us.

It is only the genius who can jump the species barrier and cross-communicate.

In this case, I am not sure if it is the parrot's owner or the parrot who is the genius.

    Perhaps both.
