Help! Have 7 Canaries Need Recommendation: HQ13221 or AE13221

RE: Help! RECOMMENDATION: HQ13221 or AE13221

I have 7 canaries and would like to get them housed in their own "bigger world". I need something adequate plus easy to keep clean, heavy on the word EASY).

I notice that the two I mentioned above are often ranked fairly high and pretty equally. Are they both identical or would you suggest one over the other. Just need some advice as I'm getting older and things, like keeping the cage clean, come harder these days.

One offers the color 'gold' as I remember. Is this closer to a brown than a gold?

For some reason I feel drawn to the HQ 13221. I've tried for a month now to make some sort of decision.

P.S. I do like the cages that have smaller openings within the one large front door, but hard to find.

Thank you so very much for helping me. Sincerely,

Trisha

Dear Linda

Both cages are about identical, the color shades do vary a bit, the color chips are close but your monitor may not show them exact. This is standard on all cages shown on a computor screen. The white is whiter on the HQ cage that I know for sure.

There is no gold. One calls their tan, Brass the other calls it Sandstone I believe. They are both basically a warm tan that looks nice in most homes.

The main difference is the door. One cage has 2 doors and one has one long door.

With canaries or other small flying birds (finches) vs larger birds like cockatiels and conures is the 2 doors will make you reaching in and out of them easier to not lose a bird through the large opening.

The only other difference is on the AE cage there are two small metal gravity locks (tags that hang down over the door and the bottom grille. This is useful when there are larger birds that may somehow push out (move forward) the heavy grille at the bottom or if you have small children that might undo the locks, the metal tag that hangs down at the top of the long single door must be moved aside to open the door. (if you get that cage, and the gravity lock is annoying, you can remove it).

Both weight the same, The HQ cage comes out of Florida and usually ships the same day if the order is placed in the morning. the AE cage ships out of NJ and will ship within 1-3 business days.

That is it. I hope this has helped.
