Some of the different normal behaviors of a cockatiel are when they scratch and grind their beaks, they bob their heads, they wag its tail or when they hang upside down. If you ever see these types of behaviors from your bird, do not be scared. This could only mean that they are happy and enjoying their life. There are times that cockatiels grind their beaks because they are sleepy, so they would usually do this before sleeping. If you see your cockatiel wagging its tail, it would mean that someone they enjoy caught their attention. When you see your bird hang itself upside down, it could mean that they are just either exercising or playing or sometimes to keep someone off their cage to protect their nest.

Among the different normal behaviors of a cockatiel is when the crest on top of their head move, this is very common and could just mean that something or someone around the house is making them scared. This is just the same when humans raise their eyebrows because something they saw alarmed them.

Another fact of the different normal behaviors of a cockatiel is when they flatten their crest against their heads; this could mean that they are mad at something and being close to its cage it not a good idea. When this happens, stay away from its cage because your bird will have a tendency to bite when mad. Try talking to it in a soft manner and let it understand that you do not have any intention of hurting or harming it.

One of the different normal behaviors of a cockatiel is screaming. There could be so many reasons as to why a cockatiel screams, among these reasons could be because of the ambiance that he is in or if it is just too noisy for your bird. This can also be because your bird knows that you are about to leave him alone in the house or maybe he has not had enough sleep and got into a very negative mood.

One sign that would let you know if your bird is happy or tired is when you hear it making grinding noises by using its beak so you do not have to worry.

Lastly, if you feel your cockatiel's feet and it's warm, this means that your bird is healthy and happy, but if at some point your bird's feet are cold, then it could mean that it is sad, upset or scared.
