My Canaries said "the honeymoon is over" Help!

Please Help Me

Hi !!

I recently bought a Canary and it's the very first time in my life to own a pet bird. well, anyways !! after 15 days of having this Canary(male) ...i decided to get him a female canary, so i went to the bird shop and bought one.

When i bought the female Canary,i put her in a separate cage and put her near the male Canary so he can see her.

The male's first reaction was so snobby and didn;t even look at the female or sing for her. even the female turned her back to him and started eating.....but that's not the story.

The story begins here, after 3 days of the Canaries being put face to face...i put the female with the male Canary in the same Cage. well, the next day, the male Canary started building the nest by himself until he finished it the next day. the days went by and i noticed that the female had laid one egg and the male is the one who is sitting on the egg. the next day, the female Canary laid another egg and again...the male is Canary is the one who is sitting in the nest.

My female Canary is not passionate at all, she only keeps eating and drinking all the time while the male is the one who stays all day long in the nest.

Two days ago, i found one of the eggs thrown outside the nest.i found it on the corner of the cage far from where the nest is located. now, it's been 7 days and there's only one egg in the nest, i really don;t know if this egg is even gonna hatch or not. i even don;t know how long does it take for the egg it hatch. i'm really angry at my female Canary, because she doesn;t sit on the nest at all....only my male Canary does.

What should i do??......please help me.....should i get rid of this female and buy another one??...i really don;t know what to do.....please help me.

Peace

Hi Snakespeer

Unfortunately our knowledge base on Canaries is too shallow to effectively answer these questions -

I've done some research and provided some links where you might some more useful information. If you get some good answers we'd really like to hear.
